📣 Attention Parents of Juniors & Select Seniors
During the state testing window March 23–April 17, 2026, all juniors and identified seniors will participate in the WIN Career Readiness Assessment—an important opportunity for students to demonstrate career readiness and potentially earn a nationally recognized credential.
The assessment measures real-world skills in math, reading, data, and essential soft skills that align with the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Each school will share specific testing dates and times, and it’s important that students are present on their assigned testing day.
📄 Please take a moment to review the full letter linked below for details about:

All County Band brings together top middle and high school musicians from across the district for an intensive, audition-based honor ensemble experience. This year, nearly 350 SDPC students in grades 6–12 auditioned, with 176 musicians earning a spot through a rigorous process that included scales, a prepared solo, and challenging sight-reading. In less than nine hours of rehearsal at Pickens High School, students—many playing together for the first time—came together to create music at an impressive level.
The junior band, conducted by Chris Mitchell (Powdersville Middle School), performed four pieces, while the senior band, led by Joe Gulledge (retired Clover High School director), performed five. A huge thank you to Domino’s of Clemson for donating 50 pizzas to feed nearly 200 students and staff during Monday night’s rehearsal. And special thanks to our SDPC middle and high school band directors for the outstanding preparation that made this high-level performance possible—we’re incredibly proud of our musicians and educators.
Experiences like All County Band reflect SDPC’s strong commitment to fine arts education and the exceptional talent and dedication of our student musicians.

Our social studies department offers a wide variety of courses for students. Students must take US History, Government, and Economics in order to graduate, but they also can take sociology, psychology, and even military history.

Math can be a tricky subject sometimes, but our teachers work hard to make content relevant and interesting. For example, in geometry classes, students are using what they've been learning about angles and desigining a city!

We are blessed with such an amazing group of counselors!

Mrs. Norris is our 9th grade counselor. She has served in the past as our graduation coach but now spends her time helping our newest EHS students get set up for success!

Our 10th grade counselor, Ms. Lesando, is a first-year counselor who has been such a great addition to the counseling team!

Our 11th grade counselor, Ms. Buss, is dedicated to making sure her students are successful at tackling all the things that junior year brings -- testing, successful course selections, and focusing on a post-graduation plan.

Our 12th grade counselor is Mrs. Gooding. She works diligently to make sure our seniors are ready for graduation and beyond!

We are so thankful for our school counselors and wanted to highlight what makes each of them an asset to the EHS family. First up is Mrs. Martin, head of the counseling department.

We're not going to lie, it was a little hard getting back into our normal routine after a fun, beautiful weekend in the snow -- sledding, building snowmen, and extra time with friends was great! Now that we're back in action, let's have a great rest of the week!

Free practice SAT or ACT at EHS given by The Tutoring Center.

Mr. Pepper's students have been working on bridge construction! His physics students had to design and build a bridge that was then put to the test to see how much weight it could hold without collapsing.
