The School District of Pickens County requires each student who drives or parks on a high school campus to complete a one-time only defensive driving program developed by the National Safety Council called "Alive at 25". In an effort to accommodate as many students as possible during the coronavirus pandemic, they are now offering instructor-led, online "Alive at 25" classes. Course registration and payment is organized through Southeastern Chapter National Safety Council not Easley High School. 

• All students that plan to drive and park on any SDPC campus must have taken "Alive at 25" prior to registering for a parking permit.  Drivers Education does not substitute for this requirement. There are no exceptions.

"Alive at 25" is a 4 hour driver's awareness program, which is different from driver's education. This course is not a behind the wheel driving course. "Alive at 25" is designed to teach young drivers to be aware of many of the typical driving hazards facing young motorists. The course is instructed by law enforcement officers and first responders, and the curriculum includes activities, videos, case studies, personal stories from instructors, and problem solving that allows participants to form their own conclusions regarding their behavior. 

"Alive at 25" is a 4 hour, single session class. You will receive a certificate of course completion at the end of the course. The one-time fee for "Alive at 25" is $40 and must be paid before the first class. Any student who cannot afford the $40 registration fee may contact the South Carolina National Safety Council at 1-800-733-6185 and ask about financial assistance.
